da aposte e ganhe: Leeds United are one of two Championship clubs eyeing a move for Everton’s Kieran Dowell, according to SportLens.
What’s the word?
The wheel seems to have come off Leeds United’s wagon in the promotion chase in recent weeks, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side sliding down the standings and facing a stern fight with the likes of Middlesbrough and Sheffield United for an automatic promotion spot.
Leeds are, therefore, in the hunt for additions in January to bolster their squad and SportLens states both the Peacocks and promotion rivals Middlesbrough are eyeing a loan deal for Everton midfielder Kieran Dowell.
The England U21 international impressed during his stint with Nottingham Forest last season and could earn a temporary switch once again to provide first-team football in order to aid his development.
A good fit?
The attacking midfielder has shown he has an eye for goal by scoring twice in 11 appearances for England’s U21 side, while he secured a decent return with Forest last season – finding the back of net nine times in 38 appearances.

Samuel Saiz and Matheusz Klich have been the two regular selections for Bielsa in this area but there has not been too much depth beyond that pair, with Lewis Baker struggling to impress in his loan stint from Chelsea.
While Dowell is unlikely to be the catalyst that leads Leeds back to the Premier League, he will at least improve the depth of Bielsa’s squad for the gruelling campaign that lies ahead and would be a smart signing for the Peacocks.
