We’re yet to see any of Leeds’ January signings in action with Elia Caprile, Ian Poveda and Jean-Kevin Augustin still waiting to make their debuts.
While Caprile and Augustin are likely to play second fiddle to established starters Kiko Casilla and Patrick Bamford, there looks to be a chance for Poveda to break into the starting XI as he’s apparently been very impressive in training.

What’s been said then?
Stuart Dallas was addressing the press before Leeds’ game against Millwall.
Understandably, he was asked to give his first impressions on Ian Poveda after his first week of training with the club.
“He’s fast and direct. He’s fitted in really well. It’s good because I haven’t seen a player take to a group as well as he’s taken to us. I’m being serious. He’s lively,” Dallas said.
“We did the murderball session last week and I was up against him. I found out how quick he was,” he continued.
Costa at risk
It’s fair to say that Helder Costa hasn’t had the impact that he would have liked since joining Leeds in the summer.
The Portuguese winger has contributed to just four goals in 28 games for the Whites, with Poveda coming in and immediately impressing, his spot could be at risk.
It’s not as if this is just backhanded praise from Dallas either, he said that he’s never seen a player take as well to the group as Poveda has, and he stated that he was incredibly impressive in murderball, a drill that Kalvin Phillips has previously dubbed ‘the toughest session of my life’.
If Poveda continues to impress and Costa’s underperformance persists the youngster could be handed an opportunity sooner rather than later.
In other news, Leeds landing this 22 y/o on loan could create further issues down the line.
