The Sun are reporting that Tottenham have submitted a bid for Blackburn’s much sought after defender Christopher Samba.
Spurs are reported to have made a £10 million cash-plus-player offer for the in-demand Rovers star.
Boss Harry Redknapp is keen to bring the 27-year-old to White Hart Lane but isn’t prepared to spend much to do so.
He is looking to offload players such as former Ewood Park favourite David Bentley, Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane and Sebastian Bassong and could use one of the four as a makeweight in the deal.
Blackburn value Samba at around £12 million and aren’t prepared to accept anything less than that sum.
However the prospect of cash plus a choice of players could appeal to boss Steve Kean who hasn’t made any significant moves in the transfer market this summer.
Samba, it’s understood, would be keen on a move to London with either Spurs or Arsenal, who are also interested in his services.
The Gunners are desperate for a new centre half but have now fell behind their London rivals in the race to sign the Congo defender.
It is thought that Blackburn are likely to reject the bid from Spurs in an attempt to start a bidding war between the two clubs.
